A few weeks back we looked at 28 Reasons Why Owning Two Dogs is Better Than One and there are a lot of advantages. 2 Dogs is better than 1 for a lot of reasons, although you will need the time to care for them well. As I own 3 Dogs I thought I would share with you the many reasons why looking after 3 Dogs is even better. Owning multiple Dogs is, naturally, a challenge. It is one that is well worth it though. There is certainly never a dull moment! Which brings me to number 1: Life […]
5 Ways to Make Your Dog Smile
Ok, Maybe not literally, although it does often seem like the three Bone Munchers smile at me when we are all having fun. Dogs certainly let you know when they are happy though. Tails wagging like they are trying to take off from the floor, and a wiggly botty that seems to have a mind of it’s own! However busy life gets it is important to always spend some quality time with the Dog in your life. A bit of fun time helps to cement the bond with your Dog and will help to ease away the stresses of […]
Housetraining A Dog, Potty Train A Puppy
I wrote the other day about the fact we normally have three Dogs but for a short period of time (thankfully) we are looking after five Dogs. All of our Girls are housetrained and for many months now there have been no accidents in the house. It took some hard work tomake the Dog Potty. Train and train is what we had to do. This Morning, Mrs. Three Dog Blogger awoke to the dreaded puddle of Pee in the dressing room! I am assuming it was one of our temporary guests, although, obviously, I cannot be certain. Our two […]
Bugger, I’m The Five Dog Blogger!
Bugger indeed, dear readers. We now have five Dogs in the House, but thankfully only until Sunday. I am glad it is only short term as it is a bit of a madhouse at present. Why the extra Doggies? Well, after Daisy had her five puppies, friends of ours said that they would love to have two of the little bone munchers, for which we are eternally grateful! (We also found homes for two more). We offered that if they ever needed us to look after them it would not be a problem. A few days is nothing compared […]
Is Your Dog Happy?
With a few days of relaxing over Christmas, this morning we were confronted with a flurry of morning craziness. Dogs were jumping all over the place and acting like a bunch of overexcited children. The good Mrs. Three Dog Blogger took the Girls for a walk while I hurriedly Chainsawed some wood and put some under cover as it seems like rain is on the way (one day I will get it sorted in advance)! On their return it seems like they are having one of those days. Why? Well, this is the point of this post. As I […]
27 Ways To A Better Behaved Dog And A Happier Life For You And Your Dog
If you have been reading this blog then you know I am no Dog Training Uber Master, but I think that overall we have fairly well rounded and definitely extremely happy dogs. Although they do still misbehave at times, for the most part they will do as they are told and are becoming quite well trained. We have owned Dogs previously for over sixteen years and have learnt a few things along the way. I have never trained our dogs to do tricks or agility just trained them to learn the basics and to be relatively well behaved. Dogs […]
A Howling We Will Go
This Sunday morning has been anything but peaceful. Here in Southern Catalonia the hunting season is in full swing. This means that every Thursday and Sunday the hills are alive with the sounds of men shouting, whistles blowing and random dogs popping up all over the place. Today it seems everyone had decided that the best hunting was in the mountains just above where we live. So from six thirty this morning there has been and endless swarm of vehicles pulling caged trailers packed tightly with hunting dogs. I won’t go in to the rights and wrongs of how […]
