Just recently I keep seeming to find odd socks and various other pieces of washing all around our land. This is washing that has been pegged out to dry on the line. A few items have totally gone missing whilst others I find on the ground. I assumed it was the very strong gusts of wind that we get on occasion blowing the laundry so hard that it was no match for the pegs. Well today I found out what has REALLY been happening. I wanted to take some photos of the pesky pooches so I opened the front […]
You Dirty Dogs
or How Dirty Are YOUR Dogs? With the new no dogs on furniture rules in place and the dogs now migrating to claiming anything outside that is off the ground it had been decided that a thorough cleaning of the furniture was again due. The leather sofa was thoroughly cleaned only a few weeks ago at the sime time as the pesky pooches. What I can’t believe is how dirty they can make everything. In just a few weeks the gaps between the sofa cushions have again turned into some kind of black hole that defies nature by sucking […]
Are You Too Soft With Your Dog?
I seem to be letting the dogs get away with more the older I get. There was a time when our little beasties were absolutely NOT allowed on anything that us humans used to either sit or sleep on. No getting on the bed, no getting on the sofa. In fact the upstairs of the house was strictly off limits (in an effort to have at least a few rooms devoid of doggie hairs)! Over time these very good intentions seem to have gone out the window. It is becoming a bit of a free for all. If I […]
A Howling We Will Go
This Sunday morning has been anything but peaceful. Here in Southern Catalonia the hunting season is in full swing. This means that every Thursday and Sunday the hills are alive with the sounds of men shouting, whistles blowing and random dogs popping up all over the place. Today it seems everyone had decided that the best hunting was in the mountains just above where we live. So from six thirty this morning there has been and endless swarm of vehicles pulling caged trailers packed tightly with hunting dogs. I won’t go in to the rights and wrongs of how […]
Danger On The Catalan Mountainside (should I Stop Dogs Chasing)?
Thursday evening I got back home later than I wanted to. It was just about to get dark so I gathered the little monsters and decided a quick walk was in order before it was dark. We had only gone a hundred paces or so when I realised it was now acually very difficult to see. I could see the outline of the track though so we carried on with our walk through the Catalan countryside. I should have done what we always do if it is about to get dark and that is carry a torch. Not so […]
Jet The Wonder Dog’s First TV Show
No, she isn’t on TV but she watched her first show. The other night after working online and then getting my brain totally frazzled by Twitter I decided to chill out and watch some rather aimless TV. Before I tell my oh so wonderful story – an aside. I joined Twitter a while ago and have kind of ignored it for the most part. I decided it was time to go back and investigate. Seeing peoples “tweets” just frazzled my little brain. What IS it all about? Is it useful or just for fun. Does it help your networking […]
There Will Be Peace on The Mountainside…..finally
This morning I went to check on the chicken situation and it seems that finally mother nature with a bit of help from the vast swarms of vultures that come to feed have finally depleted the chicken pile. Looking After Dogs Just Got A Lot Easier This is fantastic news as me and the three girls can finally get back to the life we know and love. After weeks I can finally just open the door and let them out to run around, and boy did they. The weeks of only having two walks a day but no extra […]
