or How Dirty Are YOUR Dogs?
With the new no dogs on furniture rules in place and the dogs now migrating to claiming anything outside that is off the ground it had been decided that a thorough cleaning of the furniture was again due.
The leather sofa was thoroughly cleaned only a few weeks ago at the sime time as the pesky pooches. What I can’t believe is how dirty they can make everything.
In just a few weeks the gaps between the sofa cushions have again turned into some kind of black hole that defies nature by sucking in dog hairs at an unparalled rate. Their is no way that so much hair can come off three dogs.
I think they must have been saving it up somewhere and then secretly stuffing it down the sofa when I wasn’t looking. Maybe I need to start brushing them about ten times a day.
As for the general dirt and dust that accumulates on the doggies beds, it just boggles my brain. The beds get cleaned and shaken out regular but it just keeps on coming back. It’s not like it is even wet here in which case you would expect some mud and dirt to be brought in with the dogs. I sometimes wonder if they want to start an indoor garden and are just hoping the dirt will be allowed to accumulate until there is sufficient to start planting in.
Am I not giving the dogs a thorough clean often enough? We probably shower them once a month or so which I think is perfectly sufficient but maybe I am wrong. We have always just used a mild baby shampoo to wash the manky mutts and it always leaves them looking and smelling great. We have never used a Dog Shampoo and I don’t know if there would be any benefit to this.
Are shampoos for dogs any better? Is there a magic dirty dog shampoo?
I would like to know from you dog owners how often do you wash your dog?
Do you get the same problems with your dogs bringing dirt in to the house like they want to start an indoor garden?
Or is it just my dirty dogs?
I discovered your homepage by coincidence.
Very interesting posts and well written.
I will put your site on my blogroll.
🙂
I have three boxers. I feel like i am sweeping piles of hair and dirt all the time. Their beds are washed once a week and they get a bath maybe once a month. I haven’t found a magic shampoo, just as long as it gets them clean I’m happy. I think my floors are dirtier then them with all the dirt they track in the house. It’s a vicious cycle. But their worth it

Hi AutumnR. It’s not just me then! It is a good job dogs are such great fun. They definitely add to the household chores.
Actually my dogs give me an excuse not to have an immaculately clean house.
