The Furminator Deshedding Tool Furminator Reviews

Excuse me if I sound a little excited but Furminator where have you been all my life. I can’t believe it has taken me, what, 19 years of owning Dogs to finally actually get a Dog brush that works properly. The Furminator deshedding tool is frankly amazing. I can’t even begin to count how many different Dog brushes we have gone through over the years, way too many. Our first Dog Sam was a hairy beastie but never really seemed to shed too much fur.

But the three girls we now have are like some kind of Dog hair shedding maniacs, it amazes me that they actually have any fur left on them they seem too shed so much on to the floor. Anyway, before we take a proper look at the Furminator here they are to buy, and they really are about the best thing you could possibly get if you have a Dog that sheds a lot fur.

Looking on Amazon I was amazed to see over 3000 reviews for the Furminator.

UPDATE: There is now a new model out that is even better! Same great low price but does an even better job, if that is even possible!

Does every Dog owner apart from me know how good it is? I have heard of it for years but never actually took any time to read Furminator reviews or to investigate just how they worked. I always assumed a Dog brush was a Dog brush and they were all pretty much similar in nature.

Well, the other day Mrs. Three Dog Blogger cam home with the Furminator. The house has been getting progressivley worse each day as the Dogs shed more fur for the warmer months. Every morning they usually get a brush but it still results in fur allover the floor tiles. Easy to sweep up but still horrendous.

Well, the Dogs had already had a brush with a traditional Dog brush but when the Furmitator was combed through each of the three girls I simply could not believe it. Handfuls, and I really do mean handfuls of fur came off. I had to actually stop and ask if she hadn’t bought a gizmo that was actually cutting their fur as I could not believe that a simple grooming tool would result in so much extra fur coming off the beasties. Nope, it is a simple deshedding tool for Dogs that gets really deep in to the fur and removes all the fur that would otherwise be all over the floors and the furniture.

I really cannot tell you just how impressed I am with this simple tool.

I really did not think that there was anything that would work better than the usual Dog brushes that many of us have been using for years. The difference is staggering and I would buy another one immediately if this one ever went missing. If you want to know how to get rid of Dog fur then the Furminator is without doubt the best thing I have ever found. Sometimes I wonder why I don’t investigate things I hear of straight away. I mean, it took me a year to buy a Dog backpack to stop Daisy running away, and I wish I had done that when I said I was going to.

Seriously, if you have problems with Dog fur and the Dogs shedding fur everywhere then the Furminator deshedding tool is the best thing you will ever buy. Sorry if I sound excited over a simple thing like this but a cleaner house is something I thought was never for the likes of this Dog blog owner.

LOL… I got one in January after a rather extensive shed our dog decided to have, and it really is the best thing since sliced bread!! and cheap too!! (got it for £8 on Amazon).

I would say, if you’ve got a Golden Retriever, and carpets, a Furminator and a Dyson are to essential pieces of equipment!!

Emma, it is amazing how good they are isn’t it. I wish we had one a few years ago, it would have meant a lot less sweeping, and cleaner furniture too!

  3. I love the furminator to i don’t know what I would have done without one. My Black lab sheds all over the place and with this I reduced shedding so much.

The FURminator! We discovered it couple years ago and there is not going back. A bit skeptical when checking it out we quickly learned it’s all that. We tried so many different products before and it was just frustrating. The FURminator works! We are loving it.

Jana and Canine critic thanks for your comments. I still just can’t believe how great it works. The house is actually free of fur, for the first time in longer than I care to remember.

They work wonderful on cats! I love our FURminator. I love that it works on any kind of coat, short or long. And I love that I can use the same brush on my 65-pound lab mix and on my 8-pound cat. It really, really does the trick and gets rid of so much extra hair in the undercoat.

  8. Good tip I’m going to buy one. Fed up of getting dog hairs stuck to my jeans

  9. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this thing. I reckon I’m gonna give it a try ASAP. Thanks.

  10. We use one of these things, and you’re right: The Furminator changes the game completely.

    Every dog owner needs one.

  11. Cat Lover says:

I have 2 long haired cats in my home and their hair is driving me nuts! Since everyone is giving the Furminator such a rave review, I was thinking of getting it for my cats!

You think there would be any difference (between using it on a cat or dog)? It seems it would work on any furry animal really.

    Fantastic product! Love it!

  13. Great review! We are in need of a new tool to cut down on the shedding in our house!

I have a 2 year old rottie. I just got one and the furminator removed a garbage bag full of hair. I love it! Cowboy thinks its OK too. 🙂

  15. Karen says:

Totally great device just overpriced at retailers. Make sure dog is dry and best to use outdoors.

  16. Jessi says:

My friend’s husky sheds so much, but they haven’t tried this yet because they didn’t think it actually worked.

  17. Rick says:

This is a great tool! I have two labs that I use it on. As Karen said, it’s is best used outside, unless you are in the mood to vaccum.

  18. Akio Ito says:

Yes! especially when you have a couple of Siberian Huskies that shed enough fur to make a “huskie-down” pillow… the Furminator’s saves ue a lot of time.

  19. Kathie says:

Yeah, the furminator is really amazing.

  20. I will have to try this! I am getting so sick of dog hair being everywhere! I have a one year old lab-hound-pit mix and he sheds like crazy… would be nice to eliminate this problem.

  21. I tried all kinds of “shedding tools” too, nothing worked, until now! The furminator is a great tool and I recommend it to anyone that has a dog that sheds.

  22. Tammy says:

I love it. My Shiba-inu sheds like crazy twice a year (end of summer and end of winter) and with the Furminator we can overcome the furr-season 🙂 . I do use it for my 3 cats also all year round. At last i do not have hair in my food.

  23. Elle says:

I’ve heard about these, they sound amazing. I might have to try one now!

  24. Smile Proud says:

I really like the furminator to i never know what I would have done without one. My Dark-colored lab garden sheds all over the position and with this I decreased reducing so much.

  25. Lawrence says:

It look like that your furminator is really amazing, i will have to try it.

  26. Peter says:

This is the only (BRUSH) and its not a brush at all, that my dogs will line up to get the treatment for, anything else and they will walk away after starting. Also great for Horses.

  27. Jackson says:

Love this product, though its nearly $40 at my local pet supply. I purchased nail clipper (Furminator) as well, and it’s super user friendly. They also have an itch relief shampoo I found immensely helpful for my G. Shepherd. He’s old and has a skin condition, and requires meds for a form of doggy autism. Go figure. Thank heaven I have trupanion insurance for all the vet visits and meds, though I have to but the shampoo out of pocket. Both expenses more than worth it. Still I wish these brushes and shampoo ($12) were cheaper!

  28. Mary says:

That furminator tool looks really good. I have been looking for a good dog brush!

    Mary

  29. Chad says:

I used to use one and LOVED it! Now I use a blow dryer (the ones that they use in grooming shops with no heat) and that works even better. The only downfall is that I have to use it on myself after I’m finished with the dogs because their hair blows all over the place.

  30. Desiree Thompson says:

We love our Furminator and were able to buy it through Amazon for a fraction of the cost that the big well known petstores sell them for. All 4 of our dog have loved, and 2 of them actually wait their turn to be combed with it when they see it brought out.
