Dog Backpacks To Stop Dogs Running Away

Well, it took a while but I finally got Daisy a Dog backpack. Please see the new post for how amazing it was to stop Dogs running away, it worked amazingly well, I can’t believe I took so long to do it.

After I wrote my post the other day on the Top Selling Dog Products of the year I was surprised how cheap Dog Backpacks were. They start from an unbelievable $5 or so and go up in price depending on size and quality etc.

I have decided that it would be a very good idea to buy one for Daisy who is a lean, mean running machine.

After the scare of Daisy running off and wondering how to stop Dogs running away I wonder if this may be the answer? Daisy has not done anything quite as naughty since but she has got in to the habit of running off for a few minutes at a time when we go for walks.

As she has grown more confident in the year or so since we got her, when she was to put it bluntly, totally terrified and nervous as yell, she has become more and more energetic. However much we walk her I just know she could go on running about for hours more.

A Dog Backpack may be the answer. If we can get a good quality, heavy Duty Backpack for her I can add extra weight and it may help burn off some of that Doggie energy.

Dog Backpacks seem to be very popular. Lindsay the author of thatmutt.com has some great photos of her Dog Ace wearing a Backpack. He looks really noble and sure looks like a Doggie on a mission. Seeing the Backpack on Ace it seems like a perfect fit for Daisies endless energy.

Additional weight on Daisies frame via a Dog Backpack Carrier and maybe a few bottles of water or whatever else we can think of to add to her load may just tire her out a bit more. I am sure it can’t hurt. If nothing else it will mean she can carry the water instead of me and Mrs. Three Dog Blogger deciding who gets to carry the load this time.

So what do you think?

Who has experiences with a Dogs Backpack? And if you have a recommendation before I buy one I would love to hear from you.
